Peter Russo
Peter was born in Trappeto, Sicily on April 19, 1941, to Phillip and Grace Russo. He immigrated to the United States with his parents and three of his siblings, in 1948. He grew up on Milwaukee’s East Side, in the Third Ward District. After graduation, he served honorably as a United States Marine. Peter went on to earn an Associate’s Degree from Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC), as well as a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree from the University of Wisconsin—Milwaukee (UWM). After his university education, Peter sought employment in the field of social work for 15 years, and then found interest in finance, which he continued to enjoy until retirement
Peter was heavily involved with his local community and heritage. He was on the Board of Directors of the Italian Community Center (ICC), a long-time member of the Pompeii Men’s Club, the Order Sons and Daughters of Italy in America (OSIA), and the Marine Corp League Badger Detachment. Peter’s dedication was celebrated often, as he was the recipient of numerous awards and recognitions
